Revered as “the Coachella for designers,” LEGENDS 2017 kicked off with its celebrated Gala on May 9, 2017 at Fig & Olive in Los Angeles. Thousands of design aficionados flocked to West Hollywood for three days of keynotes, discussions, book signings, and social events based on the theme “Your True Colors”. The three-day love affair with all things design lived up to its celebratory label in every way. It is THE design event of the season. With the Coldwell Banker Global Luxury™ program as co-sponsor, LEGENDS is a truly unique and artful extravaganza.
Fig and Olive played host to the Tuesday night opening gala with its refined indoor/outdoor space and intimate ambiance. Upon arrival, guests were greeted by a lush flower wall dripping in red roses, hydrangeas, and peonies, and concoctions of prosecco and fresh fruit. Key tastemakers present included famed designers Martyn Lawrence Bullard and Ryan Brown, plus Sophie Donelson, editor in chief of House Beautiful. Also spotted among the crowd were Beverly Hills based Luxury Specialists Jade Mills, Christophe Choo, and Aram Afshar who held court inside among the rosemary plants and votive candles.
“The synergy between design, architecture, art, antiques and real estate is stronger than ever,” says Craig Hogan, vice president of luxury for Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC. “We’re thrilled to continue our involvement in this annual celebration of the people and places that make the beautiful homes we sell possible.”
The cornerstone of the LEGENDS event is the windows of the LCDQ, which are transformed every year based on the theme. For this year’s event, 60 designers have been selected to “reveal who they really are, their inner being” by showing their True Colors in the vignettes they create in the windows of the LCDQ member shops, showrooms and galleries.
